We ensure that all of our products meet or exceed the Novel Food Regulations, which are the only applicable CBD laws in the UK as of 2023. These regulations apply to England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland and require that all oral or ingestible CBD products must have been on the market before February 13, 2020, with each container containing no more than 1mg of THC, regardless of volume. Is CBD legal in the UK?
CBD has been legal in the UK since October 17, 2016. However, any CBD product in the UK must contain less than 0.2% THC, come from approved hemp strains, and meet all pertinent testing and standards for human consumption.
What specific tests are conducted as part of the COA for your products?
Our certificates of analysis (COAs) test for and quantitate the presence of pesticides, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbes (yeast, mold, E. coli, and total coliforms). Of course, each COA will also indicate the cannabinoid content and potency of each product.
Are there any unique or proprietary raw material products your company offers that set you apart from other manufacturers in the market?
Bulk products are derived from raw materials that are generally commodities. Could you elaborate on the pricing tiers or volume thresholds that qualify for bulk pricing?
We have three tiers for our raw material wholesale pricing: 1-2 kgs, 2-10 kgs, and >10kgs. Orders in excess of 10 kgs will have the best per kg pricing available.
Are the COAs available to clients upon request, and if so, what is the process for obtaining them?
Every product purchased from GVB Biopharma is accompanied by a COA issued by an ORELAP accredited, third-party laboratory. All of our products are tested multiple times throughout the production process to ensure the highest quality standards from seed to finished product. Each COA is batch-specific and, therefore, only pertains to the particular batch of product that has been tested and delivered to you. While our COAs consistently reflect the superior quality of our products and our strict standards, there is no “broadly representative” COA for a given product line.
